Pretty goodJan 13, 2010 Bought this about a year ago for our backup supply. It seems to work quite well. The only bummer I had was that the piece that holds the foot that gets screwed down broke when I apparently tightened it too hard. Its not broken, broken, it just doesn't hold the foot on when the grinder is not attached to something. Anyway, the grinder grinds well. I mean it can take a lot of work to get the grind you want. For example, rice was VERY easy to grind but say, popcorn is quite difficult. Wheat berries go through it pretty easy and the meal is pretty fine. Good value, easy to clean, not to hard to use. Must be assembled to fit in box and to use.

Hard workOct 30, 2009 I bought this mill to grind beans and some uncommon grains for making bread. This mill does the job pretty well, but beware: Hand-grinding grain is hard work and takes some time. If your time is worth more than 10 cents an hour, I highly recommend buying an electric model. The only reason to invest in this type of mill is that it will keep working when the power is off.

Easy and UsefulMay 08, 2009 I bought this product so that I could grind small amounts of flour from less common whole grains for breadmaking and emergency preparedness purposes.
The grinder is very simple to put together and fairly easy to use. Be aware that you may have to tighten the clamp occasionally as you use the grinder, but it is not difficult to do. I wouldn't attempt to grind large amounts of flour at a time unless you want your arms to hurt, but it is perfect for grinding a few cups at a time for a recipe- and kids love to help out!
Also, while the coarseness of the flour can be varied, but it will not produce a superfine (cake) flour.

Great Product!May 05, 2009 This is a very well built Hand Grain Mill. It is very similar to the one built by Back to Basics but in most cases this one can be found a little bit cheaper. This is a great item to have with your food storage for emergency purposes.

Good ProductApr 24, 2009 It takes a long time to grind 1 cup of flour! That being said, this is the only hand mill I've owned so perhaps that is the way all hand mills are. I bought this in case I can't use my electric so I guess it will serve the purpose. It's definately not something I want to use daily though.
