 Better Bags than Others but Still Not PerfectMar 12, 2009

I've used my FoodSaver food vacuum for two years, but I've used these Rival bags in preference to the bags offered by FoodSaver. Why? Two good reasons:
1. These bags are thicker than the other bags. Thicker means more protection for food in the freezer or dried foods.
2. Rival bags have fewer imperfect seams than their competitors. I find about 10% of the bags will develop leaks, but about 30% of their competitors do so.
I began using these bags because they were all I could find in our little town. I've continued using them because of their quality.

If you're a seal-a-meal fan, you already know that many retailers are substituting lower-cost non-Rival bags of questionable quality. Don't let this hsppen to you.
When your recipes "serve 4-6" and you're only feeding 1 or 2 people, this product is indispensable for keeping your leftovers in prime condition. The Rival product has never failed to do this for me. Other brands have.

So much easier to purchase on line rather than search stores for the seal a meal bags. Product works just fine for preparing foods for freezer storage.

I use my seal-a-meal all the time. There's just the 2 of us and things are in the freezer a long time, sometimes, so using this saves a lot of food items, which means $$. I'd definitely recommend them, and the Seal-a-meal itself. These bags are great because they can go in a pot of boiling water. If I have chili, pasta, rice, etc in them - that's an easy to cook and easy to clean meal - a pot to dry out!
