2Presto vs All AmericanAug 28, 2010
I couldn't decide between the Presto or the All American, so I bought them both, intending to send one back. At the time I placed my order, Amazon was not selling the All American 921, so I had to order it from an outside vendor. I have only done boiling water bath canning before and had some fears of pressure canners. Reading the negative reviews of the Presto unit, where reviewers describe pressure gauges fly across the kitchen, etc., did not help. The All American canner is built like a tank, I have much more confidence in it than the Presto. I didn't actually use the Presto canner before deciding to send it back, so can't speak to its performance, but had I been able to compare these two units side by side in a store, I definitely would have chosen the All American (and saved the twelve dollars it cost to return the Presto canner to Amazon).

5if you can...Aug 27, 2010
This is an excellent product for canning. We have previously owned a presto until it wore out and will likely do the same with the next. Large size lets you use many jars 1qt or larger.

5Loving my canner!Aug 09, 2010
After reading reviews here I decided to purchase the Presto 23 qt pressure canner. I am thrilled with it! I have been canning so many different foods and it had been fun and easy to do. I look forward to being able to feed my family foods that are free from additives and preservatives. The only suggestion I have to make is this - if you purchase this canner go ahead and buy the extra canning rack and pressure regulator at the same time. The instruction booklet says that two layers of pint jars may be placed in the canner, with the second level staggered on top of the first. The jars tend to move around during the canning process and I was afraid they would fall and break and ruin a batch of food. The second rack eliminates this problem. The second concern I had was the constant warnings that the pressure gauge could be inaccurate, which would lead to unsafe jars of food. With the additional pressure regulator set for 10 lbs I was pleased to see that it began rocking at the same time the gauge read 10 lbs. Now I know if the gauge becomes inaccurate I will immediately know. I am processing a batch of vegetable soup right now - 7 quarts. :-)

5Presto CannerAug 09, 2010
I purchased this canner this year 2010 for canning my garden veggies. It works great I had no problem out of it. It arrived in 3 days and I got it the same time as my green beans was coming in. I would recommend this canner to anyone. It also is priced right.
