 Exactly what I was looking forAug 29, 2010

As a dedicated "foodie" I have many funnels; large ones, small ones, tiny ones, mostly in metal with a few plastic funnels. So why on earth would I would buy this one? The strainer is what makes it special. I thought that I would use it for straining my deep fryer oil and it did work great for that! I use it with the metal strainer for the first pass and I then put a coffee filter in it for a second pass when filtering older oil. But it's uses are not limited to frying oil.
I have found this funnel to be very useful in making sauces. I often leave large pieces of aromatics (onion, garlic, shallots, herbs, etc.) in the sauce while I am reducing it. I usually use a large metal strainer to extract the big chunks of material. However it can sometimes be a little messy if I am using a small saucepan. This funnel takes the place of the larger strainer and directs the flow of the sauce more precisely.
The straining device has long prongs that are inserted into the funnel's spout, holding it securely. The stainless steel construction promises years of heavy use. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is a commercial grade funnel/strainer that works great and is sturdy (not one of those flimsy plastic type). Product arrived on time and works great. Dishwasher safe and should last a long time.

I bought the funnel to strain oil from a deep fryer. It works well and is easy to clean. The strainer insert is easy to remove for cleaning and does a good job cleaning up the oil so I can use it again.

This item is very flimsy and the strainer is poor designed. The strainer has two tension flaps intended to hold the strainer to the funnel. These flaps are just a bent metal strip riveted to the strainer, and the rivet hole is too big, causing the weak strip to break apart, leaving the removable strainer completely useless.
As usual, all the breakage would happen very few days after the returning window deadline, leaving you with a shining little 8 dollars funnel - no strainer whatsoever.
