I recently got a freezer to stock up on food, but also, to make lunches for work. I got these labels as a fluke and I can't be happier with them! There are several reasons for my happiness. Not only do the labels stay on in the freezer, but they are pretty easy to remove from the container once your done! the glue used on the labels are just right, not too much, not too little. When you remove the label, there is no sticky/gummy film left behind. Not only that, but you can put them on the container before you put in freezer, OR even after. they still stick! The writing on the label never fades or runs. They are the best, freezer labels I have found! now I have both colors, red & blue! If you want to save money and make your lunches you need these labels. they are a dream when you are in a rush in the morning, just open freezer, look @ the labels and pick the healthy lunch I want that day! *bravo*

These labels are great. They are large enough to write what you want on them and small enough as to not take up a lot of space. They stick well and come off in one piece. Good product.

We have used this freezer label for years, and was very happy to locate it @ Amazon, as specialty stores no longer carried the product. The labels are easy to use & apply & is a great aid in dating & identifying food in the freezer.

I now understand why some people love these and some people hate them.
Summary: These are removable UNTIL you get them wet.
The manufacturer unfortunately did NOT use a water-soluble glue, so if the paper of the label ever gets wet, you can no longer remove it cleanly. Not even with detergent and not even in the dishwasher.
ONCE THE LABEL GETS WET THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE THE GLUE IS WITH GOO-GONE OR OTHER SOLVENT. ARGH!!
The reviewers who have said the labels come off easily are the ones who removed the label while it was dry. In that case, the glue sticks to the paper of the label, and does come off cleanly.
Not sure what they were thinking, not using a water-soluble glue!
