 Ok, but...May 01, 2010
This set does include important pieces in used while canning. However, the set seems really cheaply made. I don't think most of the pieces will last very long. The tongs are short and the metal seems flimsy. The plastic on the jar opener doesn't fit well over the metal. The wide-mouth funnel is just lightweight plastic that seems like it could warp with enough heat.

All the items were as expected. They did not look as nice as some others that were advertised, but they did the job. I am new to the canning and pressure cooking world so I wish that I would have purchased a set that had included the Ball Canning Guide as many people have since told me that is the "Bible" for canning food. Nevertheless, I have used the Fox Run Canning Set twice and have found each tool quite useful.

I was new to canning so bought this set. I think that if I were starting again, I would just buy a steel funnel and a lifter.

A neat set of all essential (and some inessential!) items. The main draw is that the whole set costs less than buying the items individually and Amazon's price is unbeatable (I looked in several places!). The plastics are sturdy and solid, not flimsy, and stand up well to repeated use and dish-washer cleaning.

THis Canning Set was perfect for me. . It kept me from getting burned taking the jars in & out of the boiling water.
