This is the second food saver I have had. The first one lasted about a year (it was a lower end model). I used the first one quite a bit for sealing fish and stuff and probably killed it by getting moisture in it. I got the second one directly from Tilla Direct through their upgrade program (no real bargain). The new unit didn't work out of the box. I fussed with it and it began working. Now less than 5 months later the unit has quit. The customer service sucks and I wouldn't recommend anything they make. A good alternative to sealing machines is fill a sink with water. Slowly lower a zip-lock bag into the water and the water will displace the air and save you whole bunch of money and headache. Thanks for letting me rant.

The TILIA VAC 1505 is our second Foodsver...and we thought we were "upgrading"! We use the vac to store everything from rice..to homemade meatballs to bird seed for our exotic birds. Little did we know this machine would give out in six months! Be sure to save your receipt! We were out of luck!!
