Two in a row - dead on arrivalAug 07, 2009

We purchased this model to replace an old one that finally broke down. The first one was dead on arrival. The vacuum function didn't work at all. We returned it and they sent us another unit. The vacuum didn't work on this one either. When we called to make arrangements to return it, foodsaver customer service said they had never heard of vacuum failures before. That was a bit hard to believe! Do they read or care about amazon or any other reviews on the web? They also told us to pay for the return shipping ourselves and be sure to insure it. We had to stay on the phone for another 20 minutes arguing with supervisors and supervisor's supervisors to get them to send us a packing label for a free return. I am now researching suitable replacements. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We need it to put up house smoked salmon that my husband smokes for his catering business.
I should mention that we purchased the unit directly from foodsaver and dealt with foodsaver customer service.

Don't buy this machineSep 26, 2009
By Kenai Cabo I owned a Foodsaver II for about 15 years and it worked great. I finally had to put it to rest and purchased a new Machine. I had read reviews saying they were breaking, but after having my 1st one for 15 years and not having a single problem, I decided to purchase the Turbo Plus since I fish a lot and need to vacuum up 5-20 bags each time out.
The 1st machine I purchased stopped vacuuming on the second bag. I was told to ship it back at my cost and they would send me a new machine. Got that machine and it wouldn't vacuum at all. Shipped this one back at my cost and they sent me a 3rd machine. This machine would vacuum, but it would not stop vacuuming, so shipped this one back also and received a 4th machine from them that did the exact same thing.
Foodsaver recommended that I get their less expensive product that doesn't have as many problems.
Stay away from the Gamsaver Turbo Plus!!!

I bought this FoodSaver model online. I thought its double pump was a good feature. We made some homemade sausage and were getting ready to vacuum pack it. This model would not even vacuum the first bag. This left me hanging with a lot of sausage to pack late on a Saturday night. I will not ever buy a FoodSaver Product again. I am going to return it and try and get my money back.

I bought a Gamesaver Turbo Plus early in 2009, it died (quit vacuuming) after a couple months, so under warranty, I had to pay $26 to ship it back to Jarden so they could send me a replacement. Three weeks later I got a replacement that did NOT vacuum, this time they sent me a pre-paid UPS label which came 10 days later, another 3 weeks later I got the 3rd Gamesaver, which was dirty & USED! It naturally didn't vacuum either! Another prepaid label and a month later I finally got a new Gamesaver, #4 and it works - so far today anyhow. I will NEVER buy another one from them again. I will buy one from that is NOT made by Jarden!

By Larry Mchaney Not only is the machine a piece of junk the company is too. Trying to get them to communicate with a customer experiencing a problem with defective merchandise is like trying to get blood out of a turnip.
