Great quality, air tight, perfect for most storageMar 09, 2009

I use these jars for storing coffee, beans, cereal, and more. I have approximately 10 of these jars and have had no problems. After about 6 years, I had to replace some of the gaskets, which are available inexpensively. They are airtight, unlike many of the plastic jars. Glass is inert so there is no worry about contamination from plastics, though there is a possibility of breakage (knock on wood, hasn't happened yet.) Highly recommend.

EwDec 22, 2011
By Stephen Judd Have a 3/4L with an awesome locking mechanism, it's perfect. So I ordered the .5L and the metal ring just feels really flimsy, and doesn't fit nearly as well as the 3/4. Even the inside seal doesn't look right when closed. The 3/4L seals perfectly, and is symmetrical on all sides. The .5L does not seal properly and it is not symmetrically sealed when jar is closed.
I'm not sure if the vendor is the problem or if it's Bormioli Fido. I don't expect my .5L to last long at all. I can twist the lid off the metal with NO strength whatsoever.
Basically my 3/4L is perfect, my .5L is total junk.

super cuteMay 02, 2011
By L. Wick The .5 liter jar is exceedingly cute in a chunky sort of way, very heavy glass, great quality. Under four bucks at our local grocery. I'm not sure if this style is really safe for canning but it's great for kitchen storage.

Latching mechanism comes apartAug 07, 2008
By PurpleKat This is a terrible product, and I regret having bought it.
I bought one of these to hold some natural facial cleanser, because the jar that it came in was made of cheap plastic and not airtight. Unfortunately, it hasn't lasted me very long. The wire latching mechanism eventually came apart, and it wouldn't close properly after that. A total waste of money.
