5Top qualityNov 25, 2009
By Big Jon
This is a top quality product built for serious home canning. The quality is apparent at a glance. It's an intimidating machine at first, but it's actually simple, safe and robust if you follow instructions. READ THE SAFETY RULES on the first page of the manual and follow them to the letter! The instruction booklet is comprehensive and easy to follow. This is an adult piece of equipment...made for responsible adults. If you don't follow the safety rules, you will damage or destroy your pressure cooker, and you may get hurt doing it.

The only part of this machine that requires regular replacement is the safety plug. The manufacturer recommends replacing the plug every year or two before you start the season's canning. Also, the seal must be lubricated after every few runs with petroleum jelly. Other than that, you shouldn't need to buy any gaskets or parts to keep it running forever.

This model can handle 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars or 4+ gallons of food for your next cookout and it's built to last a lifetime. If you are going to do any serious canning, don't waste your money on an inferior tool. This is a great choice.

5Puts all other pressure canners to shameJan 15, 2009
By MadCanner "Sick of cheap chinese crap."
Buy one of these pressure canners for all of these reasons.

* Made in USA

* Metal to metal seal. No need to ever replace seal/gasket saves money in the future. Seals may have to be replaced annually and can cost up to 50$ plus s/h

* Pressure/Temp gauge. Increased accuracy, saftey and reassurance.

5This canner is great!Jun 14, 2010
By Catherine Dichner
I use this canner for making jams. It is fantastic! Really like that you can use 5, 10, or 15lbs of pressure for whatever you are making. I have even abused it on more than one occasion and it is still going strong. Even cooked several rice and meat dishes in here with great results. If the inside gets dirty I've found that the steel wool is a pain and doesn't do the job as well as the manufacturer says it will and has left scratches on the inside. I use Barkeepers Friend on a kitchen sponge or sponge/scrubber and it does a great job. Williams Sonoma recommends them with Calphalon pans as it doesn't scratch when used with a sponge. Works wonders on my cooker!

You're going to drop some serious money for this pressure cooker/canner, but it's worth every penny. I love mine - don't know why I waited so long to finally purchase one.
