A reviewer says "why would anyone buy this item if you don't know what size it is?" .. Reading the information provided by Glass Pacakging Solutions LLC - I wonder what part of 1 5/8" inside diameter of opening x 2 1/2" outside diameter in the description they don't understand? Truly amazing that people can write a review when they haven't bothered to learn how to scroll down on Amazon and read descriptions! Like the ad says - hard to find item fit small mouth VE jars perfectly - this is the genuine article not some copy made in China!
The problem many encountered is that other companies tacked onto our listing with some odd size gaskets - we are the only one in this country I know of selling the VE brand small mouth gaskets - for the VE brand small mouth jars!
If your seller is NOT Glass Packaging Solutions - then you are in all likelihood - NOT buying this original VE gasket!

These may be great for the jars they fit, but the ad description lacks measurement to define actual size. They are 2.5 inches ID and larger than the common small mouth 2 inch ID hermetic jars for which I need gaskets. Too much hassle to send them back, so I'll find a use for them.
